Fifteen year old American actress, writer and filmmaker Aeris Danet is from the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Aeris's directorial and writing debut NEBULOUS is an official selection of the Chicago Horror Film Festival (CHFF) making Aeris Danet the youngest filmmaker to premiere at the prestigious film festival. CHFF is now considered to be one of, if not the largest festivals in the world for the horror genre, selecting only 222 horror films from around the globe out of a few thousand submissions. The official selection of NEBULOUS has catapulted 15 year old Aeris Danet onto the list of youngest indie filmmakers in the industry for a horror short.
NEBULOUS is the parody-ish, horror trope filled short of how filmmaking turns deadly for a group of unsuspecting high school teens. Her debut captures the essence of classic 80's horror films and sprinkles in a taste of 90's teen coming of age drama all while introducing a Chicago based young teenage cast. NEBULOUS features a killer soundtrack from start to finish from world famous DJ/producer Bad Boy Bill, LBC frontman Kaustubh "Stubhy" Pandav / Shock Stars and Bottle of Justus a band that originated on the campus of Illinois State University back to the late 90s.
Aeris's influences of Stephen King, Wes Craven and teen coming of age movies are predominant in the short film NEBULOUS. Steve Desmond who co-wrote the 2023 Horror/Mystery "Knock at the Cabin" had this to say - "I'm honestly very impressed, especially given Aeris's age and this being her first film. Aeris has a lot of innate talent in shot composition, editing, pacing, and rhythm."
Teen horror short NEBULOUS is the writing works and directorial debut for 15 year old Aeris Danet. She wrote, casted and signed her SAG micro-budget agreement for NEBULOUS at the age of 14 and began filming only days after her 15th birthday.
